Our first tennis pick in May comes from the first round of the ATP World Tour event in Serbian Belgrade, where successful qualifier from Argentina Eduardo Schwank meets Dudi Sela from Israel. Eduardo Schwank enjoyed an oustanding junior career in 2004, finishing as Nr. 2 player in the world (just behind Gael Monfils) and winning five titles in six finals. He also reached the third round at the French Open in 2008 and defeated former champion Carlos Moya at that event and achieved his career-best ranking of Nr.48 in 2010. It really looked like he could become solid Top50 player and the one with good chance to take some titles on red clay. But the things didn´t go that well and Schwank is ranked just inside the Top200 at the moment. But he has become successful doubles player and 2011 French Open finalist (in pair with Cabal). Dudi Sela is a player who belongs to the category of players that are too good for the ATP Challenger Tour but not good enough to be among the best players of the ATP World Tour. Sela is a player whose favourite surface is hard court and he has problems with movement and timing on red clay courts and usually ends this part of tennis season without any success. This is a good chance for Schwank to win an ATP match again and he really should take an advantage out of it and cover the 2.5 games handicap.
